Engineering Change 2011
Building knowledge and capacity in humanitarian engineering
July 16th 2011, The University of Auckland
What is “Engineering Change”?
Engineering Change is New Zealand’s first humanitarian-engineering conference, incorporating a number of respected and experienced professionals in the fields of development and engineering.
Our vision is to increase awareness of the role of engineers in community development, and build knowledge and capacity in humanitarian engineering.
What can I expect?
The conference will incorporate a series of interactive, exciting and dynamic sessions that:
· Engage participants – through presentations, participatory workshops, and discussions
· Encourage open communication between speakers and participants; and
· Build links across engineering and development.
Topics of discussion will focus around sustainable development, disaster preparation and relief, and engineering practice.
