EWB and Gap Filler are looking for software engineers to volunteer on the Open City Project. The Open City project is a celebration of the undervalued, sweet and free things to in and around Christchurch city. It might be a great tree to climb in Hagley Park, a family of eels to spot in the Ōtākaro/Avon River or a fantastic fact about your favourite building.

Volunteers will build an online database of free things to do that can be accessed via a website, app and a customised parking meter that will be located in Cathedral Square.

We are looking for 4-5 software engineers to form a project team who will work together on the database, website and app, and programming of the parking meter to connect to the database and issue ‘tickets’.
