The Odyssey challenge (formerly the open design challenge) was run in 2008 with backing and support from SKM and the University of Auckland. This challenge was based on participants submitting solutions to some real problems facing smaller communities in Vanuatu. Participants looked at the basic requirements for the people of Vanuatu to meet their self identifying needs. Below is the winning design from the Cook up a Storm team who focused their efforts on the desing of efficent cookstove for the people of Vanuatu.
The odyssey challenge will involve the design of a wind turbine made from recyclable material. The winning team's design will be developed further by our local project teams and implemented in local schools. The challenge will run from May til September
Participants can join up in a team of 4 or as an single entry and we can organise teams for you.
