This is an opportunity to engage with development professionals and find out more about engineering in the Pacific and the works of Volunteer Service Abroad.
Evan Mayson, VSA Chair, will speak about his extensive experiences in the Pacific as an engineer, alongside a short film on the challenges of ocean level rise and climate change.
Evan is a civil engineer who has been actively involved in development as a volunteer, aid advisor, project manager and consultant in Papua New Guinea, Thailand, Kenya, and Nepal. He is currently a project director with GHD, an engineering and environmental consultancy company.
This will be followed by the chance to discuss climate change and development in the Pacific context. Plenty of time will be given to questions, discussion and networking. Presentation starting at 6:30pm.
Quality non-alcoholic drinks and nibbles will be provided.
