Internship opportunities

Interning is a great way to get to know the EWB organisation and team, and apply your skills to EWB’s programmes. EWB’s first two internship opportunities will start from the beginning March, based in Auckland. Remote internships could potentially be arranged from Wellington or Christchurch. Each role is from 1 to 4 days per week, for a period of three months:

Human resources and communications intern

EWB is currently expanding and we are always looking for good volunteers to drive EWB activity across our chapters and national organisation. We are also planning to bring on our first part time paid staff in 2010.

As the human resources and communications intern you would have the opportunity to work on a significant recruitment project, and also be engaging with EWB chapters on a regular basis, to assess and assist with their human resource and communications requirements. Part of the role is also member communications, and ensuring that members are kept up to date with each other and the wider organisation.

Commitment: 3 months, 10 to 20 hours per week (voluntary)

Fundraising and media intern

Are you interested in raising funds for a not-for-profit organisation and raising its profile? Have some innovative ideas that you’d like to see become reality? EWB is looking for a creative and motivated person to take up a fundraising and media internship position with our team.

As the fundraising intern, you would have the opportunity to develop and implement fundraising strategies for EWB as a whole. You will also be working with individual chapters, to assess their fundraising and media opportunities and help in developing ideas. As a part of this role, you may also be liaising with other NGOs, corporate partners and various media channels.

Commitment: 3 months, 10 to 20 hours per week (voluntary)
