Share your technical skills to support communities in Vanuatu achieve 100% access to safely managed drinking water by 2030.
In collaboration with our partner organisation VSA, we have two opportunities for water sector advisors to volunteer with the Department of Water Resources of Vanuatu.
These assignments involve providing vital support to Provincial Water Offices to address the water safety challenges their communities currently face and to implement a national plan for safe and secure drinking water.
Mentoring, advising, training and community engagement will combine in this role. The volunteer will support the Provincial Water Office staff to develop community water supplies, establish Community Water Committees and prepare localised Drinking Water Safety and Security Plans.
These are 1-year placements departing in mid-2018, with the option to extend to a second year.
VSA volunteers receive a living allowance and accommodation, insurance and medical costs are provided.
The two assignments are split geographically, assisting the northern and southern provinces separately. The two positions are listed on the VSA website and hyperlinked below. Follow the links for the official Assignment Description and application form! Applications are due 4 February 2018.
